K9s for Veterans Foster Program
Our vision for the Canine Complex Project will include a facility in the Indianapolis area to include:
- One acre+ dog park
- Rescue dog friendly
- Non-profit focused
- Low-cost veterinary services
- Training areas
- Emergency boarding
- Walking trails
- Exercise areas
- Meeting rooms
- Spay/Neuter education
- Complex property 2 acre+

K9s for Veterans Foster Program
Our K9s for Veterans Foster Program is twofold. First of all, strive to improve the lives of our Veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our Great Nation. Secondly, partnering with dog rescues & shelters with missions to reduce the euthanasia rate & promote spay-neuter education.
The K9s for Veterans Foster Program will:
- Provide each dog with collar, leash, bed, crate, bowls, food, treats, toys; heart worm & flea/tick preventative
- Each dog will be fully vetted. Vaccines updated during foster period.
- Basic training for dog & foster
- Limited exterior fence repair
- Interior gates, if needed.
- Mentor assigned to each Veteran & Dog
- Trainers available for additional questions/training
- Follow-up with our Outreach Coordinator, monthly.
- Opportunity for Veteran to adopt their foster dog
We look forward to serving our Veterans! We are also looking for additional volunteers to grow our program.

Veteran & Foster Dog Sponsor - Your donation would provide them with all the provisions needed to start their journey. Donation request: $500
Boundary Sponsor - Your donation will provide a safe environment. Exterior fence repair. Some locations may need more than others. Your choice of donation:
Minimum Security -$300
Moderate Security -$600
Maximum Security -$900
Training Sponsor - Your donations will help the bond between Veteran & Dog. There will be different levels of training depending on the dog & partner. Your choice of donation:
Basic Obedience - $150
Advancement - $250
Advancement Plus - $350

In Memory of Bill's devotion of his dog, Harpo, and his love for all dogs, The Bill Johannes Project helped Kentucky shelter dogs get proper care by providing:
- Parvo virus vaccines
- De-worming medication
- Spay/neuter services
- Emergency boarding to keep them safe (from euthanasia) and healthy
